Why is the syllable "Ha" at the beginning of the name doubled? - It's a tribute to my grandfather, who called him exactly that. The thing is, he was a doctor, like Hugh Laurie's character, and therefore found many parodic, funny elements in the words and actions of his "colleague", which is why he came up with this "laughing" version of the name. Moreover, there is also a rather obvious allusion to the German phraseological unit "Ha-Ha usw", which accurately conveys the emotional perception of this funny character...

However, if you make a few simple grammatical manipulations, you will get not an abstract name borrowed from a movie hero, but a very eloquent nickname with a distinct emotional content: Haus (deu)... --> Ha-Ha usw --> HaHaus.
This metamorphosis of the name very accurately conveys my grandfather's and my usual reaction to the Hugh Laurie's jokes and funny antics on the screen - "Ha-Ha, etc." (or in German "Ha-Ha usw")...
My grandfather's family was deported in 1941 along with other repressed "Volga Germans" to Kazakhstan, from where they managed to move back to Kaliningrad only in the 70s. The family spoke Russian, but the children were informally also taught German too.
In the late 90s, we managed to emigrate to our historical homeland, and in the 10s of the 21st century, we moved to Scotland. Accordingly, now our family speaks three languages so as not to lose the cultural and mental connection with the ethnic communities to which we belonged and belong.
Which of the three languages do I consider my native language? It's hard to say...
English is not my native language, of course, but I have been communicating mainly in it for a decade and a half now.
